When do you meet?
The Flying Circus Birders leave every Saturday promptly at 7:30 am. We return about 11:00 to 11:30 am.
Where do you meet?
The Boulder Flying Circus Birders meet every week at the Park-and-Ride on Niwot Rd and the Diagonal Highway. If the parking lot is blocked by a special event or other reason, we proceed individually to the Cottonwood Marsh Parking Lot at Walden Ponds.
Where do you go?
We explore mostly in Boulder County, CO because of time constraints, but we occasionally wonder further. In winter, we are more likely to stay on the plains and in summer we venture into the foothills and mountains more.
Can I meet you at your destination?
Our destinations change every week and we often decide where to start as a group immediately preceding our departure. Destinations are not predetermined and no real-time announcements are made of our routes.
How much does it cost?
The walks are free. If you would like to make a donation in appreciation for the walks or Flying Circus Weekly, please click here.
Can I come for part of the walk?
Many folks have other engagements later or are birding with children etc. Feel free to leave the walk whenever you need to, but you’ll have to drive separately.
How strenuous is the walk?
How strenuous is the walk? The walks are generally not too strenuous, but we do sometimes hike on rough, and even steep, trails for short stretches. Be prepared to walk from 0.25 to 3 miles in the present weather conditions.
